The Detroit Month of Design™ is a citywide collaboration of creativity that gathers designers, consumers, residents and the greater community to celebrate Detroit’s role as a national and global design capital. 

Established in 2012, Eastern Market After Dark has grown to be a highly anticipated part of our yearly programming, drawing over 33,000 attendees annually and highlighting a range of emerging and established designers.

DESIGN CORE

As the steward of Detroit’s UNESCO City of Design designation, Design Core tells Detroit’s design story locally and globally. The Detroit Month of Design is produced by Design Core and co-created with community. It is the most diverse design festival in the country.


Design Core champions the transformative power of design in Detroit by supporting the creative problem-solvers using design solutions to improve our city’s economy.

Cars, Kicks & Culture (CKC) is a one-of-a-kind immersive event that brings together the worlds of automotive design, sneaker culture, music, tech, and creativity under one roof. Powered by Foxxtecca, CKC is more than just a car show or a sneaker expo, it’s a celebration of mobility as culture and design as storytelling.

Taking place at Shed 5 in Eastern Market (2810 Russell St, Detroit, MI) during Detroit Month of Design and Eastern Market After Dark, CKC transforms this historic space into an interactive playground where enthusiasts, creators, and innovators come together to explore what’s next.
